An environmentally-friendly fabric: this linen flax requires very little fertiliser and pesticide and does not produce any waste. The shorter fibres which are unsuitable for use in the manufacture of the fabric are made into ropes, fibre boards and oils. 1 hectare of linen flax = 1500 kg of fibre = 900 kg of thread = 3750 m2 of fabric.
A hard wearing fabric: the world's oldest textile is also the hardest wearing fibre which is characterised by its durability which has stood the test of time. The benefits of this fibre are numerous: linen is naturally absorbent and has a structure which lends itself to comfortable finish which is suitable for all seasons.
It is a fibre which aids the regulation of body temperature, aiding a good night’s sleep. It is also recognised for its insulating properties which are useful for soft furnishings in the home.
The therapeutic effects of linen: linen fibre can also have health benefits. Linen is hypo-allergenic, anti-stress, non-irritating and is dust and insect resistant.
Linen care: In order to prolong the life of your bed linen, LINA FORLINO recommends washing at 40°, without drying. Press with a hot steam iron through a damp cloth. Wine or fruit staining: gently sponge the fresh stain with salt and white vinegar, rinse well. Grease stains: treat with trichloroethylene while sprinkling with talc to avoid ring marks. Brush off the talc then wash. Ink or make-up stains: gently sponge underneath the stain with alcohol or ether using an absorbent cloth then wash.
